Operating principle:

  • The reproduction of the units of absorbed dose and absorbed dose rate of beta radiation by the standard is based on direct measurements of the ionization current in an automated extrapolation ionization chamber in the fields of dosimetric beta radiation sources with a maximum energy of 3.5 MeV.

Composition of the standard:

The primary standard consists of a set of the following technical means and auxiliary devices:

  • the UEDAB-1 measuring setup with the MEK-1 automated ionization extrapolation chamber for reproducing absorbed dose units in the range from 3 x 10-4 to 1 x 10-1 Gy and the absorbed dose rate of beta radiation in the range from 5 x 10-6 to 1 x 10-3 Gy/s;
  • the UEDB-2 measuring setup with the EK-2M ionization extrapolation chamber for reproducing absorbed dose units in the range from 1 x 10-1 to 1 x 102 Gy and the absorbed dose rate of beta radiation in the range from 1 x 10-3 to 1 Gy/s;
  • TEB-1 transportable kit with a fixed-volume plane-parallel ionization chamber;
  • a set of radionuclide beta-radiation sources of variable composition NRIB-1.
