Operating principle:
Absolute methods for reproducing the unit of activity of radionuclides, applied depending on the type of radionuclide decay and the range of radionuclide activity:
- 4 (2)π particle counting methods;
- Definite solid angle methods;
- Coincidence methods;
- Calorimetric method;
- Ionization chamber method.
Composition of the standard:
The operation of the standard is ensured by a set of standard installations included in its composition:
- UEAP-1 with a beta counter for reproducing units of radionuclide activity and beta particle flux using the 2π(4π)β-counting method;
- UEAPP-2 with alpha counters for reproducing units of radionuclide activity and alpha particle flux using the 2πα-counting method and a specific solid angle;
- UEA-3 with alpha, beta, gamma, and X-ray radiation counters for reproducing units of radionuclide activity using the 4π α(β)-γ coincidence and QX-γ coincidence methods;
- UEA-4 with a spherical ionization chamber for reproducing the unit of activity of radionuclides;
- UEA-5 based on a calorimeter for reproducing the unit of activity of photon radiation radionuclides;
- UEA-6 with a liquid scintillator, for reproducing the units of activity of radionuclides using the double and triple coincidence ratio counting method in a liquid scintillator (TDCR method)
- UEA-7 with a scintillation detection unit for reproducing the unit of activity using the 4πγ-counting method
- A set of beta radiation sources based on 90Sr+90Y CO radionuclides
- Scales for measuring the mass of a radionuclide solution
